Gravity Youth Project
THE GRAVITY YOUTH PROJECT
Engaging young people with broadcasting and their community.
Listen to their show every Saturday between 2:00pm and 6:00pm.
The Gravity Youth Project (GYP) began as an opportunity for young people between the ages of 13 and 16 years to broadcast a weekly radio show aimed at other young people. Over the last few years it has developed into a larger project involving young people in all aspects of Gravity FM.
The current members of the Youth Project range in age from 10 to 17 years and are supported by a dedicated team of adult volunteers. Each week they produce a show for broadcast every Saturday presented by Andrew Kidd (better known a Andyroo) and co-presented by other members of the team. In addition, members of the Youth Project are often involved in producing other features and material for broadcast during the week.
This year, Grantham Town Football Club have entered into a partnership with Gravity FM and the GYP to keep you updated with the latest club developments and results. You’ll also be able to hear live second half commentary from all their Saturday home games with Graham Cowell and Dave Philpott.
The Youth Project are also actively involved in the community volunteering at outside broadcasts, community and charity events. They bring their experiences back to the station to raise awareness of other organisations on-air whilst representing Gravity FM in the community. Indeed, they are so important to us that we have now given them their very own section of our website.
